Using the Portal

This Knowledge Portal simplifies access to Baseplan documentation for customers, this is an on-going project and Baseplan will continue to expand this knowledge base.

The following documents can be found on the Baseplan Knowledge Portal:

  • Release Highlights
  • FAQs

Region-specific documentation can be accessed by clicking the AU or US flag icon in the upper right corner of the portal.

Rentals
Service
Parts
Financials

Areas in Baseplan Enterprise have been grouped into 6 main pillars, namely Sales, Rentals, Service, Parts, Financials and General.

Each pillar contains one or more modules. Documentation relating to a particular module is located under the relevant pillar and module.

Baseplan Mobility

Baseplan Mobility contains 3 pillars, namely BMA, CRM Mobility and Service Mobility.

Release Highlights

Release Highlights for version 1801 and above are available on the portal.

Contains some of the of the most frequently raised queries.

Search Functionality in the Portal

Document Search

Specific documents in the portal can be searched by typing one or more keywords from the document name in the Search bar on the Home Page:

  • Clicking on a document in the results will download the document
  • Clicking on the Open icon will open the document in a new tab in the browser

Document Search by Software Version

How to guides and Release Highlights can also be filtered by version number using the Search bar on the Home Page.

  • Clicking on a document in the results will download the document
  • Clicking on the Open icon will open the document in a new tab in the browser

Global Search

Content in the portal, such as the information on Pillar and Module pages can be searched by typing one or more keywords in the Search field on the upper right corner of the Home Page.

  • Clicking on a result will take you to the page where the content is located
Portal Navigation
Home Page

Documents can be accessed from the Home Page by:

Selecting the relevant area in the Menu and drilling down to the required module or mobility application

Side Menus

On the left hand side of each of our Pillar pages is a contents menu, that when clicked scrolls the page to the topic that you are interested in.

OR

Clicking the relevant Pillar icon. This will display all the modules within the Pillar.

Note: You can return to the Home Page from any location on the portal, simply by clicking the Baseplan logo in the upper left corner.

Pillar Page

­Each pillar page contains documents for the modules that belong in that pillar.

The modules are listed on the left hand side on the page. Clicking a module in the list will take you to the panel containing documents for that module.

Documents can be:

  • Downloaded in PDF format by clicking the Download button. Once downloaded, the documents can be saved or printed.
  • Previewed by clicking the Preview button. Documents can also be downloaded or printed in Preview mode.
Module Page

Module pages are displayed individually when the user selects an area from the Menu and then drills down on the relevant module.

Each module page has a path displayed on top. Each path starts with the Pillar name and leads to the modules within. This path can help users navigate between various modules in the same pillar by clicking on the module name.

The module currently being viewed is displayed in Bold.

For example: Sales > CRM > Sales Quotes

Release Highlights

Release Highlights must be accessed from the Release Highlights Menu on the Home Page.

The Release Highlights document can be:

  • Downloaded in PDF format by clicking the icon. Once downloaded, the document can be saved or printed.
  • Previewed in PDF by clicking Preview in the icon. The document can also be downloaded or printed in Preview mode.

The versions are listed on the left hand side on the page. Clicking a version in the list will take you to the Release Highlight panel for that version.

FAQ

The FAQ page must be accessed from the FAQ Menu on the Home Page.

Each question is located within individual accordions. Clicking a question will expand the accordion to reveal the answer.

You can search for a question or answer by:

  1. Typing the question or keywords in the Search FAQ field located at the top of the page
  2. This will list all the results that match the keywords
  3. Click on the relevant result
  4. This will expand the FAQ
